Leeds United have started their campaign in a strong manner and are currently unbeaten in the competition after five matches. They have secured three victories out of the five matches and are eyeing to keep their record scratchless as the season resumes after the international break.
The Elland Road club have brought in a number of players this summer in order to strengthen their squad for the new season, their latest addition being the Portuguese youngster Oliver Sarkic, who has been playing for the Portuguese Primera Liga champions Benfica so far, mostly in their “B” team. The player is yet to appear at Elland Road, subject to an official confirmation from the Championship club.
The 20-year-old is considered as one of the budding talents in Portugal and can be a valuable addition to Leeds United, introducing a rush of fresh blood into their side. His darting runs into the heart of the rival defence can cause trouble to any defender.
He also has the ability to take shots on goal from a long range outside the box and also has the precision to find the back of the net from close range. He is also very dangerous from set piece situations and can find the back of the net with his swerving free kicks.
Leeds United found it hard to get into the top six of the Championship due to some late goof-ups, which finally saw them finish in the seventh position in the league table. More difficult time followed as their most trusted striker Chirs Wood chose to make a move out of Elland Road and joined the Premier League club Burnley this summer.
However, it has not been able to dampen the spirit of the Whites as they look to consolidate their present as well as the future squads, as they bring the Portuguese youngster to be added to their Under 23 side and develop him into a top class striker.
The deal having been almost finalized, it will be a great opportunity for the Sarkic to play for the youth squad of Leeds United and get into the senior squad rising through the ranks.
The Elland Road based club have been looking to make it back into the Premier League since their relegation from the top flight 14 years ago and was very close to making it into the playoffs in the last term. This term again, they will be looking to get into the top six and come out as the eventual winners of the playoffs, paving a way to get back into the Premier League.
