Liverpool have started their season in the best possible manner, having clinched two wins and one draw in their first three matches in the Premier League so far. With back to back win against Crystal Palace and arch rivals Arsenal, the Reds are looking in ominous form and are firmly on their way to once again make it into the top four this term.
However, the defence, as always, has been a problem for the Merseyside club and it showed its vulnerability in the first match of the season against Watford, where the Hornets came back to score equalisers in a hard fought 3-3 draw against the Reds. Though they have not considered any in the last two matches, their head coach Jurgen Klopp should get someone who can be able to safeguard the backline and strengthen the defence in the forthcoming days.
One such player, who has been eyed by the German gaffer for quite some time, is the Belgian youngster Zinho Vanheusden, who is currently playing for the Italian side Inter Milan in the Serie A. The player has displayed his ominous ability in the backline for their youth squad and has been awarded the opportunity to sign for the senior squad this summer.
The 18-year-old has been one of the most highly regarded young talents in Belgium as well as in Italy, given his brilliant performances for his national Under 21 squad in the last few seasons as well as for the youth side of the Nerazzurri. The centre-back has attracted attention from a number of clubs from all over Europe including Liverpool, with Klopp looking keen to bag the player as soon as possible.
However, Inter Milan have made it clear that the player is not for sale and are ready to fend off any interest from any other club, whether it is from the Italian Serie A or from outside of it. Reportedly, the Merseyside club had inquired about the availability of the young defender and showed keenness to bag the player recently but was faced with form rejection from the current possessors of the mercurial talent, Inter Milan.
The teenager, besides representing the Primavera side of the Nerazzurri on 30 occasions, has also played 18 matches for their Under 17 side. In the 30 appearances for the youth side, the player has scored six times to keep his side in advantage.
It goes without saying that if the Reds can get their hands on such an impressive talent in the forthcoming days, it will surely help them to strengthen their squad and rejuvenate the area of defence.
