Chelsea have started their season on a mixed note, having lost their opening game against Burnley by 3-2. However, they have clawed their way back, having won against both their opponents Everton and Tottenham in the next two matches with a view to defending their Premier League title successfully.
However, it seems that their current coach Antonio Conte is not happy with the way things are going at Stamford Bridge in the present situation and might be on his way out of the club at the end of this season. Though the coach has renewed his contract with the Blues this summer, there is a good chance that the Italian gaffer might head to another club.
According to the Italian pundit Niccolo Ceccarini, Conte is unlikely to be in charge of Chelsea when the 2018/19 season comes around.
He told Tutto Mercato Web Radio: “The odds that he will be Chelsea coach next season are very low, so nowadays, with all the big Italians [clubs] already set up, I can see him going abroad.
“Barcelona would be an interesting scenario.”
It has not been a happy summer for the ex-Juventus manager at Chelsea as the club officials could not secure the signings of a number of players, whom Conte wanted in the team to revamp his squad for the new season. This has reportedly made the Italian tactician disappointed with his present club, leading him to take a final decision about his future with the reigning Premier League champions at the end of the present season.
On the other hand, it has not been a very happy summer for the Spanish giants as well, as the former La Liga champions were unable to hold onto one of their mainstays in the attack in the form of Brazilian superstar Neymar, who joined the French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint Germain for a world record transfer fee. They are also looking to regain their lost crown under the tutelage of their new manager Ernesto Valverde, who signed for the Catalan club this summer.
As the coach of Juventus, the 48-year-old Italian proved his supremacy in the Serie A, having won the coveted title thrice apart from the Italian Super Cup, which he won twice. He made his way into the West London club last summer after leaving the national team job and led the Blues to win the Premier League.
It goes without saying that Chelsea will try their level best to keep Conte with them in the next season as well, but a move to Barcelona might be very interesting.
