Arsenal have made a disastrous start to the season, losing two of their first three matches in the Premier League. The losses came against arch rivals Liverpool in their last encounter by 4-0 at Anfield and Stoke City by 1-0 at the Bet 365 Stadium. Their only win came in their first match against former champions Leicester City by 4-3, which was far from satisfactory for the players as well as the fans.
A number of the agitated supporters are looking for changes to be brought into the side immediately and the one right on the top of their list is the sacking of the present coach Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman has been one of the most successful managers in the Premier League for the Gunners but his recent tactics have failed to bear any fruit for them, as they find themselves in absolute dire straits.
The wily strategist, who has been nicknamed “Le Professeur” for his studious demeanour, has won three Premier Leagues, seven FA Cups, and seven Community Shields to show for his achievements since his appointment as the manager at Arsenal. However, his recent years have seen a number of problems including the inability to get main players to sign a new contract. The fact that the club could not finish in the top four for the first time since 1998 in the Premier League in the last term added fuel to the fury of the fans as the 67-year-old manager has been slated for an early exit this season.
Though the manager signed a new two year deal with Arsenal at the start of the season, it looks imminent that he might have to leave the club if their form stays like this. Two managers who can be the perfect replacements for him at the club are-
Massimiliano Allegri
The Juventus gaffer was rumoured to be joining as the head coach of Arsenal this summer, which was put to sleep as he signed a new deal with Juventus. However, there might a possibility that the Italian tactician might agree to take up the job at the Emirates Stadium in case Wenger is sacked. Known as a shrewd strategist, Allegri might help the Gunners to get back to winning ways with his positive influence.
Unai Emery
The Spaniard is one of the best coaches in Europe in the current situation and is known for his attacking tactics. Presently in charge of the French giants Paris Saint Germain, the ex-Sevilla coach, who led them to triumph in three consecutive Europa League campaigns from 2013/14 to 2015/16, can be the perfect gaffer to fit the bill for Arsenal, in case Wenger calls it a day.
