The international transfer window for this summer has finally come to a close. It has been one of the most “inflated” transfer windows of recent times, with a number of clubs breaking their transfer records, splashing out the cash and making their desired candidates sign for them.
With all the European leagues having been commenced already, it was time for the teams to test the players they have brought into the side and how they fare with the new conditions at their new club. While almost all of them came out with flying colors, proving their worth to the fullest, a number of them have failed to play as per their potential and has disappointed their team management as well the fans.
Three players who can be considered to be the worst signings of the season so far are the ones depicted in the following lines –
Joe Hart
The England goalkeeper was brought in by West Ham United this summer on a season long loan deal from Premier League rivals, Manchester City. The player spent his last term at the Italian outfit Torino on a season long loan deal as well, having fallen down the pecking order under the new manager at Etihad Stadium, Pep Guardiola. However, the move has not yet paid off and the English international has already conceded 10 goals so far this season. The ball handling and positioning
However, the move has not yet paid off and the English international has already conceded 10 goals so far this season including 4 on the opening day of the season against Manchester United. The ball handling and positioning have been far from good from the former Citizen, with the East London club massively dropping points positioned last in the Premier League points table after Match Day 3.
Marko Arnautovic
Another player West Ham United signed this summer is the Austrian winger Marko Arnautovic, who has been one of the most important players for his former club Stoke City, playing a crucial role in the attack for them. West Ham United splashed a good amount of cash to get the player into their lineup but he has not been able to deliver according to his worth so far. He has failed to score a single goal for the Hammers.
Victor Lindelof
The Swedish defender was brought into the Manchester United side in order to strengthen their defence, which looked fragile during the last term. However, the former Benfica man has failed to attract the attention of the manager Jose Mourinho in the pre-season, making him to push the defender down the pecking order and bring Phil Jones in his place, who has been playing exceptionally well besides Eric Bailly.
