A number of high profile signings have been made in this summer as clubs have poured money vigorously. Let’s have a look at the best possible signings.
Defence
Ederson is likely to get the nod to keep his position intact between the tactics. Pep Guardiola’s idea of deploying a ball playing keeper brought Claudio Bravo last season but the Chilean endured a very sloppy campaign.
Ahmed Hegazi took very little time to adjust to the English condition. The Egyptian international has been a strong presence in the West Bromwich Albion defense and is looking unstoppable at the moment.
Michael Keane’s departure was pretty expected following his brilliant performance in the Burnley back line. Everton boss Ronald Koeman has been pretty impressed by the defender and has roped in the English international in a bid to inject some fresh blood into the starting lineup.
Benjamin Mendy’s arrival at the Etihad Stadium has given Pep an upper hand. The gaffer faced many problems due to his aging side backs and once the transfer window opened he made it sure City fulfilled all the criteria. Mendy at times can be very lethal with his marauding runs and precise crosses.
Serge Aurier’s arrival from Paris Saint Germain will definitely give Tottenham Hotspur a much-needed momentum this season.
Midfield
Nemanja Matic’s impact has already started to feel at Old Trafford. Paul Pogba’s performance has been pretty breath taking and Matic has been the key to unlock the French man’s potential. A man of many parts, the Serbian’s presence in the midfield has provided the Red Devils with a perfect balance.
Danny Drinkwater switched to Chelsea in a deadline day transfer. The arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko wasn’t enough for the Blues as Antonio Conte is trying to build a very strong and powerful side. Drinkwater won the Premier League back in 2015/16 and has the necessary attitude to match up with the Blues.
Attack
Bernardo Silva switched his allegiance to Manchester City from Monaco. The Portuguese international was part of the Monaco side which created havoc in the European circuit. He is one of the marquee signings Pep made this season and is going to be a crucial part of his setup.
Gylfi Sigurdsson’s arrival at the Goodison Park has enhanced the quality of Everton. No. 10 position is best suited for him.
Mohamed Salah will have his chance from the right flank. The Liverpool winger started the season very brightly and The Reds would be hoping he maintains his form throughout this season. Romelu Lukaku will lead the charge.
