Leicester City have had a bid rejected for Arsenal defender Calum Chambers with a few hours to go for the transfer window to shut.
The Foxes have toiled hard so far in the Premier League this season and had a mixed start to their campaign, with one win and two losses in their first three matches of the season. They have procured their only win against the Premier League debutants Brighton & Hove Albion, while their losses came in their encounters against the heavyweights like Manchester United and Arsenal.
The Foxes have clearly found it pretty difficult to defend well against the might of the big name clubs and are currently looking for a new player who can give them solidity in the defence. One such player is the Arsenal outcast Calum Chambers, who might be on his way to make it out of the Emirates Stadium today. The English defender was a part of the Middlesbrough side in the last term, where he was sent on loan to have some valuable exposure to first team football.
The Gunners are letting go of a number of players from their squad this term, whom they might not be able to accommodate for the new season in the first team and the name of the English defender is right on the top of that list. This has irked a number of clubs from the Premier League as well as the Championship to take the opportunity of bringing the player into the side for the new season and Leicester City are looking to head that list in the present situation.
The player has been one of the highly regarded defenders in the Premier League in the recent times and is willing to get as much game time as possible under his belt. Known for his ability to fend off the opposition strikers and keep his goal safe from rival attacks, the 22-year-old English international can be the perfect player to fit the bill for the Foxes and give them the much-needed stability in the backline.
The right back, who also has the ability to play in the heart of the defence, has been a part of the Arsenal side since 2014. However, he has not seen much of the action since his arrival at the North London club, with his total tally being just a meagre 59 matches so far. The player is also looking forward to a move out of the Arsenal camp, given that wherever he goes, he will get the chance to play in the first team and get some much-needed experience under his belt.
