Frank de Boer’s reign at Crystal Palace is in turmoil after three straight losses. The Dutch gaffer had a shambolic start to his managerial stint at the Selhurst Park as he is yet to find a winning way for his team.
Nothing seems to be going their way as the Eagles made a pretty stuttering start this season. The club hierarchy are monitoring Frank de Boer’s situation currently and if the story is true the manager is going to have a pretty tough time in the coming weeks.
According to reports, The Eagles are in the process of bringing back Mamadou Sakho to the Selhurst Park. The French defender had a very positive display last season under former manager Sam Allardyce as he kept four clean sheets to put the Eagles in a respectable position by the end of the season.
Sakho had a fall out with Jurgen Klopp and at one point it seemed he was on the verge of an indefinite exile at Anfield. But a late change of heart revived his career as he was sent on loan to Palace to have a go in the Premier League and his terrific displays there caught attention.
The current scenario has forced de Boer to look properly in the transfer market and buying a defender has been his top priority. Changes were evident after the gaffer tried to change the current style of play.
The Eagles used to playing a more direct long ball styled football till recently but the gaffer has emphasized on a more possession based playing style which the players are taking time to grasp.
Liverpool have been playing hardball over Sakho’s price as they refused to lower their initial demand of £30m. But due to a shortage of suitors, the club has been forced to soften their approach and are right now willing to offload the player for a fee of around £25m.
Palace’s interest in the player is not new and they have been very keen on the player who played a pivotal part last season. Sakho had a premature end to the season due to an injury but he looked very relaxed and in control in the time he was playing.
Palace are trying to tie up the deal as quickly as possible and they have discussed personal terms with the defender. Should the clubs reach an agreement for the player, it would put an end to Sakho’s frustrating Liverpool career.
