Leeds United are yet to taste defeat in their new season and Thomas Christiansen’s impact can be well and truly felt. The Danish gaffer inherited a squad from Garry Monk and has moulded it according to his needs. Their disappointing seventh place finish should work as a motivation for them and given the current form, the Leeds’ supporters have a lot to look forward to.
The Yorkshire giants have so far displayed an attacking based football this season which could set the stage for the latter part of the season. There has been a whiff of optimism since Andrea Radrizzani’s complete takeover of the Whites. The owner has invested a large chunk of money to bring in a number of new exciting talents.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 Leeds United Lineup against Nottingham Forest
Defence
Felix Wiedwald has kept three clean sheets in the last three matches and will continue to maintain his position in the goal. Nottingham come into the game following their spirited win over Newcastle United so the keeper has to be pretty alert.
Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson have stood tall to thwart any kind of danger so far and are likely to continue.
Christiansen is quite satisfied with Vurnon Anita’s performance and is set to reinstate the player to the starting lineup.
Luke Ayling is likely to start from the right side.
Midfield
The pair of Kalvin Phillips and Eunan O’Kane has done wonders for them this season and the gaffer is expected to hand them another start. O’Kane’s resolute vision to steer the game from the middle of the pitch has been praise worthy while Phillips’ energy could prove to be the key factor in this crucial game.
Attack
Keeping in view of Stuart Dallas’ performance against Sunderland, the gaffer might give the 26-year-old a start. He should bring his creativity to the play from the left-hand side.
Samu Saiz has been a revelation in the Yorkshire club since his arrival to the Elland Road. He has been in the thick of things and is in contention for another start. He is expected to be stationed in the no. 10 position.
Ezgjan Alioski will be given the task to keep the right flank mobile.
Chris Wood’s departure has emerged as a new selection headache for the gaffer. Leeds have signed Jay-Roy Grot but the 19-year-old might be given some time to acclimatize himself properly to the conditions.
Kemar Roofe should lead the line against Nottingham.
