The arrival of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain for a whopping £198 million was bound to create ripples across the world, but it would mostly affect players in the squad at Paris. The Ligue1 Giants have some pretty high-quality players in their attacking third for one of Europe’s most non-competitive leagues and Unai Emery will surely want to offload a few after such heavy summer signings.
However, no one ever thought that the departure list would contain Julian Draxler at the top, whom PSG brought in last winter itself for a £35.5 million deal from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. The German playmaker made an immediate impact and continued his form in the Confederation Cup as well. He was given a long rest by the manager, taking some time to return to the squad leading many to believe that the player is losing his place at the club.
The star from Schalke competes with the likes of Lucas Moura, Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria, Goncalo Guedes, Hatem Ben Arfa, Javier Pastore and Giovani Lo Celso apart from Neymar, and it goes without saying how difficult will it be for him to survive. He was brought in the final five minutes of PSG’s emphatic 6-2 win over Toulouse on Sunday, as he replaced Angel di Maria.
He is more than just likely to quit this summer and here are three best destinations for him to continue his career:
Arsenal
The North London giants have been long-term admirers of the German and while they couldn’t compete with PSG in landing him last winter, the possible departure of Alexis Sanchez could pave the way for him in the dying minutes of the transfer season. Although Arsene Wenger has stayed positive over the Chilean’s future at the club, who is currently out with an abdominal strain, his suitors remain positive as ever.
Liverpool
The situation isn’t very different for Liverpool either. The Reds also wait on a concrete outcome over the future of Phillipe Coutinho at Anfield. The Brazilian international is willing to move out of the club following huge interests from La Liga giants Barcelona. Although the Catalans haven’t managed to test Liverpool’s resolve strongly, chances of that happening increase with every passing week.
Manchester United
Despite their terrific start to the season, United would still want to get in a winger on the left that has been left understaffed by their failure to land Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan. Jose Mourinho has shuffled between Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford mostly in that position but would want a specialist to execute the plan perfectly and has been linked with Draxler, who could be a sensational coup.
