Arsenal are looking forward to strengthening their side for the new season, having been beaten in their second match of the campaign in the Premier League. The Gunners looked completely out of place in every department and are in need of specialist players who can keep the squad stable in the forthcoming matches.
With players like Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil having denied to put down their signatures on a new contract, it seems that the North London club is willing to keep hold of the other players in the side with a new contract, especially those who have been playing a very influential role in the last few seasons in the team.
One such player, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, has now been offered a new contract, which might see the England international stay back at the Emirates Stadium for a significant amount of time in the future.
The player is one of the most highly-rated midfielders in the Premier League and it has become imperative for the Gunners to keep hold of him, with a number of clubs looking to bag him for the new season. Reportedly, defending champions Chelsea are on the top of the list of the clubs who are trying to lure the English speedster away from North London in the ongoing summer transfer market.
Chamberlain has been used in a right-wing back position in the last term, in the newly implemented 3-4-2-1 system at the Emirates. However, it is not a preferable place for the player who wants more of a central role into the midfield.
This has disappointed the 23-year old to some extent. The other Premier League clubs are looking to capitalise on this situation and are looking to add him to their squad this summer.
However, Arsenal are ready to leaving no stones unturned to keep the player in the side for this season as well and have offered a revised contract of £125000k per week to tie him down at the Emirates Stadium for the forthcoming days. Reportedly, the player was not ready to put pen to paper on the previous contract offer which saw him earn £100000k per week.
Meanwhile, Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has been searching for players who can give good competition to his present right winger Victor Moses and has Chamberlain as his top target in the summer transfer window. Now it is to be seen whether the England international sticks to his present club or makes a move to West London. What do you think is the best move for his career?
