Arsenal got off to a good start to the new season in the Premier League, having won their very first match against Leicester City in a hard-fought encounter 4-3. However, that performance went for a toss in the next match, as the Gunners succumbed to a defeat at the hands of Stoke City by a narrow margin of 1-0 in matchweek 2.
This early setback in the season has made the Gunners rethink their strategy for the upcoming matches, which might lead to the club making a few more signings to revamp the side. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger might be up for a few changes in the remaining days of the transfer market and bring in some new faces in the team this summer.
With midfielders like Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka not being able to impress in the match against Stoke City, the French tactician is looking to bring in a younger player to add some flare, which has been missing from the midfield. One such player, who has been in the headlines due to his swift skills is the youngster Marcos Llorente, currently playing for the Spanish champions Real Madrid.
The 22-year-old has been one of the most highly regarded young players in the La Liga as well as in Europe, having impressed many with his performances in the youth level tournaments for the Galacticos. The player has risen through the ranks and has been dubbed as one of the future stars for his country.
However, he has not got himself many opportunities to make it into the first team for the current Champions League winners and has gone down the pecking order. Speculations are rife that the young midfielder might make a move out of Santiago Bernabeu in the forthcoming days, having only a year left on his contract.
This has irked interests among a number of clubs who are willing to bring the 22-year old into their side for the new season, including the Premier League giants Arsenal. The Arsenal manager has always been fond of young talents and has nurtured them into superstars and the same can happen in the case of Llorente, given the Spaniard agrees to a move out of Spain before the summer transfer window closes.
The Gunners are in dire need of players who can provide increased number of passes into the attacking third so as to make the strikers get more opportunities to score goals, and Llorente can be the perfect option to fit the bill for the Gunners this season.
