Watford face Arsenal on Saturday with both teams desperate to chalk up their first win of the season. Both have contrasting objectives and are likely to be stationed at the different ends of the table when the season concludes. But such is the uncertain nature of the Premier League that it will be almost impossible to forecast a result for the match. Watford started off brightly in both the matches so far but have failed to apply the finishing touches on both the occasions. They had taken a surprising lead against Southampton on the opening day but finally succumbed to incessant pressure from Southampton, who eventually got a goal to earn a draw. But Watford’s willingness to work hard for the result was evident from their display and it was again a similar story next week against Chelsea where they had taken a lead via Capoue only to concede two in the latter stages and lost the match.
Walter Mazzarri will be hoping to be third time lucky in his quest for the elusive win but the task gets harder in reality. Arsenal would be themselves desperate for a maiden win and will come out all guns blazing. The Watford fans would be hoping Mazzarri unleashes his 3 new signings and that the element of surprise works in his favour.
HERE IS THE PREDICTED WATFORD TEAM VS ARSENAL (3-5-2)
DEFENCE
Heurelho Gomes will have another busy day at the office and will look to atone for his error which led to Chelsea’s first goal. In case Mazzarri decides to unleash his new signings from the beginning, Kaboul will slot into the first team and can line up on the right-hand side. Prodl and Britos will then form the rest of the three-man backline. Janmaat might be put into the fray immediately and will take up Amrabat’s position as the right wing-back while Holebas is expected to keep his place on the left-hand side.
MIDFIELD
Behrami will be one of the two in central midfield and might find a new partner in Etienne Capoue. Though Capoue has been mightily impressive in the advanced role, Roberto Pereyra is the automatic choice if he is match fit, which will allow the former Spurs midfielder to move back into a more conventional position.
ATTACK
Roberto Pereyra will hope to make his debut against the Arsenal team and being a confident lad will be eager to show his potential. And ahead of him, the ever reliable and in-sync duo of Deeney and Ighalo will look to re-ignite their partnership of last season.
