Chelsea started their title defence in the worst possible fashion, losing their very first match of the season at the hands of Burnley 3-2. The reigning Premier League champions tried to claw their way back into the match with a strike from David Luiz and Alvaro Morata each, but the lack of support in the attack clearly showed, leading the Blues to lose the hard-fought encounter.
However, with the transfer window still open for almost a couple of weeks, the West London club are trying their level best to bring in players who can be able to provide the much-needed depth to the Chelsea frontline. They currently have their eyes fixed on the Italian marksman Andrea Belotti, who is currently playing for the Serie A side, Torino.
The 23-year-old striker has been at the top of his form for his current club, for whom he has scored 42 goals in 75 appearances so far, stabilizing the team almost single-handedly throughout his tenure so far. Destined to be one of the best strikers in Itlay as well as Europe, the Italian international has been a player to attract the attention of his compatriot and former coach of the national team Antonio Conte, who wants to bring him into the squad to bolster his attacking propositions.
Conte brought Spanish youngster Alvaro Morata into the side for the summer and his investment has been paying rich dividends so far. However, the lack of a good partner while spearheading the attack has made it difficult for the player to take so much onus on his own shoulders, which has made the West London club looking to bring in more attacking players into the team and Andrea Belotti can perfectly fit the bill for the Blues in the new season.
Bellotti is known for his sharp shooting from close as well as long range and finds the back of the net with ease. His current club is well aware of the fact that his departure might spell disaster for them and will provide stiff resistance. However, the Blues are not looking to give up easily on their desired target and will give it a try before the transfer window closes in a couple of weeks time.
Chelsea are currently facing a lot of problems in building their team composition for the next match against Premier League runner-up from the last term, Tottenham Hotspur and will be willing to bring in someone as effective as Belotti to spearhead their attack.
