Real Madrid tormented Barcelona over the two legs as they started the season in emphatic fashion by lifting the Spanish Super Cup. Victory tasted even sweeter as the joy came by defeating arch rivals Barcelona.
This is their second trophy of this season as they had already emerged as the winners in the UEFA Super Cup after getting the better of Manchester United. But the actual test is going to start as they will visit Riazor to face the trickery of Deportivo la Coruna in the first game of their La Liga campaign.
Predicted 4-3-3 Real Madrid Lineup against Deportivo la Coruna
Defence
Keylor Navas gave a pretty compact performance in the two legged Super Cup and he is set to be inducted against an inconsistent Deportivo La Coruna side. The Costa Rican international had his ups and downs in the last season but for most of the season, he had a pretty positive display in Los Blancos’ goal.
Sergio Ramos is known for his physical display in the defence. The Spanish international has been a revelation in the Madrid back line and looks set to continue his excellent form.
Raphael Varane has established himself with ease and the French international is touted to be the next superstar at the Santiago Bernabeu. He will take the pressure off Ramos.
Marcelo looked bright last season and whenever he got forward with his bombarding runs, Real looked threatening. Known for his dangerous crosses, the Brazilian will test the Deportivo defence with his marauding runs down the flanks.
Dani Carvajal will try to build the momentum from the first match as he looks set to start on the opposite side.
Midfield
Real probably have the best crop of midfielders available in Europe right now. Casemiro will be looking to roll the juggernaut once again from the deep. He will have to be at his best to sniff out the danger.
Luka Modric and Toni Kroos will be in advanced midfield. The paired worked magic last season as Madrid lifted the Champions League and La Liga. Having started the season on a positive note, they will like to keep the ball rolling.
Attack
Cristiano Ronaldo has been handed a five match ban for shoving the referee and it could be the best chance for Marco Asensio to stamp his authority on the starting lineup. He has been in exceptional form and scored a scorcher against Barcelona in the last match.
Gareth Bale didn’t feature in the last match but he will operate from the right flank.
Karim Benzema will spearhead the Madrid attack.
