Newcastle United made their way back into the Premier League after spending their last season in the Championship and are willing to make it a memorable one. However, lack of transfer activity in the summer has restricted the Magpies from revamping their squad by bringing in new players into the team for the new season. They have only signed five players so far, which is quite a contrast to the number of players brought into the side by the two other new entrants in the Premier League, Huddersfield Town and Brighton and Hove Albion, who have signed ten and nine new players respectively this summer for their team.
However, Newcastle seemingly have broken the deadlock and have brought in a sixth player in the form of Brazilian player Kenedy from defending champions Chelsea for this season. The 21-year-old spent the last term on loan at Watford, which was disappointing, to say the least, and will hope that it will be a good one in the new season.
Kennedy has been known to be a left winger originally, but can also be used as a left back if the situation demands. The player made a move from the Brazilian club Fluminense to the present Premier League champion side Chelsea in 2015 but has been left on the bench on a regular basis rather than playing for the Blues out on the pitch.
The 21-year-old winger has been restricted to a limited number of appearances for the West London club throughout his tenure, summing it up to just 22 times since his arrival at the club. He hopes that picture is going to change in the forthcoming season and he will be ensured a permanent place in the Newcastle side for the new season.
The man in charge at Newcastle United, Rafa Benitez, has been one of the wiliest coaches in Europe and is well aware of the strengths and weaknesses of his players and how to utilise them on the pitch to get the best out of them. The Magpies boss is hopeful that the decision to get the young Brazilian winger from Chelsea will not backfire on him, as the player has seen very less action in the last few seasons during his stay at the Stamford Bridge.
Kenedy is known for his darting runs down the left-hand side, helping his teammates to get crucial passes in the attacking third so as to make it possible for them to score goals on a regular basis, thus keeping his team in advantage.
