This summer has been an extremely busy transfer window so far as all the Premier League clubs have been rigorously spending in the transfer market to undergo a complete overhaul. Smaller clubs like Burnley and Watford have also flexed their financial muscle and this season of the Premier League is expected to be the most exciting extravaganza of recent times.
Some players have left while some players have been re-signed for their respective clubs. Each club has their own mission in this season and with the season set to unravel this Friday, it would be a tempting affair to watch the clubs vying for the Premier League title.
Victor Lindelof
One of Jose Mourinho’s high profile signings this summer. Manchester United didn’t have to struggle much for his signature as they had a clear path as they brought the Swedish defender from Benfica this summer.
Lindelof’s arrival had given the supporters a ray of hope after the unanimous struggle last season. Mourinho’s maiden season at the Old Trafford was marred with a number of injuries. Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling endured a torrid season as the Red Devils had a pretty turbulent campaign.
Lindelof was supposed to be the backbone in the new season but his shoddy display in the pre-season voiced a matter of concern for the Portuguese gaffer. He was tipped to be the successor of Chris Smalling but in the last match against Real Madrid, Smalling outshone the new entrant with his smooth and silky defending.
Sandro Ramirez
The Spaniard was another high profile arrival at the Goodison Park. The Merseyside club have undergone a complete overhaul as Ronald Koeman has set his ambitions high for this season. Basically, a centre-forward, the 22-year-old is also capable of playing on the wings.
But La Liga and Premier League are totally different in terms of playing style and physicality and he might not be able to acclimatise himself in the English Premier League right away.
Jay Rodriguez
West Bromwich Albion took a huge gamble by bringing in Jay Rodriguez from Southampton as Tony Pulis wants significant improvement in his attacking section.
Rodriguez hasn’t been able to replicate his previous form after two injury spells which has maligned his playing career heavily.
The 28-year-old was one of the most highly rated forwards but in the last couple of years, his efficiency has fallen drastically and he needs to get his rhythm back to have a much better shot this season.
