Owing to their consistent and decent performances, Bolton Wanderers secured promotion to Championship after finishing 2nd in the League One table last season. The Trotters, however, would have to get the requisite ammunition in their arsenal in order to ensure that they construct their way to the rendezvous point of the English second tier this season.
Their season, however, hasn’t started in an encouraging manner with their 2-3 loss at the hands of Leeds United in their first league game of the season. One of the major talking points from their loss at Macron Stadium was the injury to their star performer Josh Vela. Vela was stretchered off on Sunday, having suffered ankle ligament damage and he is seemingly likely to face a lengthy span of time away from the pitch in order to make a recovery from his injury.
Without any shadow of doubt, losing someone like him so early in the season would be a massive blow for Phil Parkinson’s outfit. Parkinson has to take a bold step to recruit someone to beef up his squad before the transfer window shuts down.
As per one of the latest reports, Bolton Wanderers have put out-of-favour Rangers midfielder, Harry Forrester on their wishlist. Forrester has been deemed as surplus to the requirements of the Gers and it is believed that he isn’t in the plans of Pedro Caixinha. Despite having a couple of years left on his contract, he has been allowed by Caixinha to leave Ibrox Stadium on a free transfer.
The former Al-Gharafa boss has made as many as nine signings this summer and no wonder he is now in pursuit of making ramifications to his side with respect to clearing personnel who aren’t required at the Glasgow based club.
Having emerged through the youth ranks of Northampton Town, Watford and Aston Villa, Forrester carved a notable recognition for himself whilst his tenures with Brentford and Doncaster Rovers.
Eventually, the Teddy Bears made him sign on the dotted line in the winter transfer window of 2016. Recently, he fell out with Caixinha and their cold relationship implies that the Englishman’s days at the Glasgow based club are numbered.
Nonetheless, there are no lack of admirers for Forrester who featured 21 times for the Light Blues, whilst which he scored 3 goals and registered a couple of assists. The versatile midfielder is on the radar of a host of clubs including Burton Albion, Southend United and Charlton Athletic.
