Crystal Palace found their rhythm quite late in the season in the last term and played some really good football to make their way out of the relegation zone. They eventually finished at the 14th position in the league table and will be looking for a better performance in this season, so as to make it one of the best seasons in terms of results.
Strength-
Though Crystal Palace does not have any particular strength, their last campaign saw their midfield play a very crucial role in making them stay back in the top flight for one more season. With players like Wilfried Zaha, Andros Townsend, Yohan Cabaye and the club captain Jason Puncheon in their line-up, Crystal Palace boast a strong midfield and can hope to get a number of results in their favour throughout the new season.
Weakness-
The biggest weakness for Crystal Palace has been their defence, which let them down in the last term and almost paved their way back into the second tier. The inclusion of French defender Mamadou Sakho in their team on loan during the January transfer window eradicated a lot of their woes and made them stay back in the top tier for this season as well. However, it is quite unlikely that Crystal Palace will spend 30 million to get the defender on a permanent basis in their team for the new term and make their defence look strong once again.
Key Men-
Crystal Palace have failed to make any significant signings this summer so far and have to do with whatever resources they have at their disposal in the new season. While Christian Benteke will be their main man spearheading the attack as he did in the last term, he is supposed to be duly supported by the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend in their pursuit of glory in the new season. These three can form a formidable attack and if they are up to their full potential on the pitch, it is going to be easier for them to achieve positive results on a regular basis, thus strengthening their position on the league table.
Expectations-
As every fan wants, the Crystal Palace fans will also want their club to perform well in the new term in the Premier League. However, they will need some new players to be brought into the team in order to revamp the team, which their new manager Frank De Boer has failed to do so far, making only one signing in the form of Jairo Riedeweld from Ajax.
