The transfer window this year has seen some of the biggest clubs breaking the bank to bring in their desired talents, some even breaking their club transfer records to do so. The former Premier League champions Manchester United are no strangers to this and have also been on a spending spree, bringing in some quality players during the summer.
However, it doesn’t seem like the Red Devils are finished yet and now they have their eyes fixed on Belgian starlet Leander Dendoncker, who is presumed to be one of the future stars in Belgian as well as European football. The 22-year-old is currently playing for the Belgian outfit Anderlecht as an enforcer.
Jose Mourinho, the current man in charge at Old Trafford, has been much appreciative about the player, who showed great composure in the middle of the field against the Red Devils during their UEFA Europa League match last season.
Though his team lost, Leander Dendoncker showed his mettle against one of the top clubs in Europe and attracted lots of praise from the opposition manager.
The Portuguese mastermind is looking forward to making the Belgian starlet his next signing this summer transfer market. Reportedly, the 222-year-old is also looking to make it out of the Constant Van den Stock Stadion in order to play for a big name club in Europe, preferably in the English Premier League.
This might come as a big boost for the Red Devils, who have already brought in a top class enforcer in the form of Nemanja Matic from the defending Champions Chelsea. Intending to make their midfield one of the strongest in the new season, they are well aware of the fact that they will have to face some of the biggest clubs in Europe in the Champions League and will need someone as an able partner for the Serbian midfielder. The star from Anderlecht can be the perfect player for them.
Dendoncker is known for his defensive abilities in the middle of the field, helping the backline to keep the opponents out of harm’s way. The young enforcer can play crisp passes into the attacking third, creating opportunities for his teammates to score goals, keeping his team in advantage.
He also can stun the opposition defence with his ability to strike the ball with sheer power and also make crucial interceptions to dispossess the opposition in dangerous areas of the field, making him an impact player. But is he the right man for Manchester United?
