West Ham United have shown the urge to do something different in the summer as they have roped in a number of exciting talents with the likes of Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic.
Slaven Bilic’s intentions are very clear as he wants to finish as high as possible in the Premier League and for that, he wants to grind it out every possible way. According to reports, The Hammers are contemplating a move for Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina.
The Italian club is ready to let the player leave the Juventus stadium but only for the right price. Juventus value the player around €20m and a bid in the range of €18m should be enough to tempt the club to part ways with the midfielder.
Lemina has gone frustrated over his lack of game time and wants a permanent solution to this problem. Juve are very keen to offload a number of players as Max Allegri has tweaked his setup a little bit and has opted for a cosier two-man midfield.
Lemina doesn’t fit in this strategy and Juve have given him the permission to talk with other clubs. The Italian side also wants to make some profit on the sale of a few players as they are looking for a couple of more signings.
The Serie A Champions are hovering around, in the transfer market and they are currently tracking Blaise Matuidi as a potential replacement for this player. West Ham has already secured a short term loan deal for Joe Hart and will like to repeat it this time but the Italian champions are only looking for a permanent move.
Bilic needs to adjust his balance in the middle of the pitch and Lemina’s arrival will give him a slight breather. Mark Noble has undergone a groin surgery while Pedro Obiang is also nursing an injury.
Noble had a very erratic season and Lemina’s arrival will take the pressure off him. Bilic currently has very few options in the midfield and the Gabon international could be the defining character next season. Everton could scupper Hammers’ interest in the player. Ronald Koeman wants another midfielder to re-energize his current squad and has been monitoring the player.
West Ham have the cash to spend and Bilic should utilise it very carefully as any sort of misjudgement could create problems for them. The Hammers are yet to make a formal offer for the player but Bilic needs to act fast otherwise, he could lose the player to a rival.
