Arsenal face off against Watford at the Vicarage Road with both teams on the lookout for their elusive first win of the season. The Gunners who have been frustrated several times this summer regarding their transfer targets would be looking to open their account and pacify their vehement supporters to an extent. Arsenal have been a part of two of the most contrasting matches thus far this season. In the first match, they were involved in a goal fest against Liverpool where the Emirates outfit staged a late comeback to spare them the blushes as they ended up on the wrong side in a 3-4 thriller. They followed it up with an uninspiring stalemate at Leicester City with a worrying lack of teeth in attack.
History suggests Arsenal have the obvious upper hand with a 100% record against the Hornets in the Premier League. But they will have to be wary against them this time around. Watford have come close to recording their first win on both occasions this season and will be desperate to go all the way in this match. They will be further boosted by the additions of Younes Kaboul and Roberto Pereyra who are certain to have an impact on the team as well as the fans. Arsenal will have to come prepared in what will be a tricky encounter on Saturday.
Here is the Arsenal Predicted Line-Up.
DEFENCE
Petr Cech will take his usual spot in goal with Bellerin at right-back. Koscielny will most likely be paired with Rob Holding with Mertesacker being a long-term absentee. Nacho Monreal will line-up at left-back.
MIDFIELD
Granit Xhaka will look to build his understanding with his new teammates lining up in the double pivot and will most likely be partnered by Coquelin with Santi Cazorla an option if he decides to line up offensively. Ozil will take up the No.10 role after coming off the bench last week as Arsenal go looking for a win.
ATTACK
Alexis Sanchez fared poorly in the lone striker role last week and might be allowed to shift to a more conventional position on the left-flank. His industry will be put to good use on the flanks and Walcott might get an extended run on the opposite right-wing as he continues to work hard to impress the boss. Oxlade-Chamberlain provides another option. Arsenal can recall Giroud to the starting line up as a target man has been lacking and he can further deal with the physicality of Watford’s players.
