Defending Premier League champions Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a move for Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale as reports claim that their star player Eden Hazard offering himself to Barcelona, following the staggering £200 million sale of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Blues have been had some brilliant moments from the Belgian superstar and they wouldn’t want to part ways with him under any condition. But, the money that Barcelona now have, is more than enough to tempt any club and player. To add to it, Real Madrid’s are reportedly ready to let Gareth Bale go this summer, which makes this move all the more probable.
Reports in Spain have confirmed that manager Zinedine Zidane is increasingly confident of landing AS Monaco star Kylian Mbappe this summer and he doesn’t want to have four world class players fighting for their front three positions. While Cristiano Ronaldo remains unsellable this season, Real have plans to offer Karim Benzema a new deal.
Bale remains the only one option left and Mbappe’s arrival could be the end of his time at the Santiago Bernabeu. Chelsea will have a large void to fill on the left flank if Hazard does leave and Bale’s prior experience in the Premier League means he will need a little time to adapt to the conditions.
Chelsea head to a crucial campaign where they have a lot to prove following their smooth run in the league last season. With more competitions to play in and tougher sides to play against, Antonio Conte will love to have someone like Bale in his side, who can create goals from nothing.
Blessed with a left foot which can score goals from the most difficult of positions and longest of ranges, the Wales international is definitely one of the best in the business. At 28, he still has three years ahead of him at his peak, given he relies heavily on pace to ply his trade. With him on the flank and the likes of N’Golo Kante and Bakayoko behind, Chelsea will have a high-performance engine with unparalleled stamina.
Since Real Madrid managed to land him back in 2013, the Welshman has played 150 games for Los Blancos scoring 67 goals and providing 51 assists. However, his recurring injuries have been a huge hindrance in an otherwise stupendous career.
It took a bad turn in 2015 and Bale hasn’t quite recovered since then missing 44 games over the past two seasons for Real. But, Bale will always remain a superb option, given his incredible abilities when fit.
