West Bromwich Albion were one of the teams who showed a lot of promise in the last season with their performance in the Premier League, especially on their home turf, but were finally unable to keep up and lost some close encounters towards the end of the season, which made them end at the 10th spot in the league table.
The Baggies, however, are looking to make amends for their mistakes in the last season and revamp their team so that they can fare in a better manner against the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and defending champions Chelsea and book a place in the top eight in the forthcoming term.
The man in charge at the Hawthorns, Tony Pulis, has been sceptical about the performance of their midfield and is willing to bring in reinforcements to fill up the void that has been created by the departure of their influential captain Darren Fletcher, as the Scotsman joined the Premier League outfit Stoke City in the summer transfer window.
One player, who has attracted the attention of the Baggies boss, is the English midfielder Matty James, who is currently playing for fellow Premier League club Leicester City. The 26-year-old midfielder has been one of the main targets for the West Brom manager, as he looks to strengthen his team for the next season.
The 26-year-old had an impressive season in the last term with the Championship side Barnsley, where he was sent on loan by the former Premier League champions to have some much-needed experience in the first team. Now that he is back with the Foxes, it might be that they will look to make use of his experience that he derived from his 18 outings in the Championship with Barnsley in the last season.
However, there is also a good chance that the player leaves the King’s Power Stadium in the summer and joins the Baggies to be a part of their first team and play an important role in the midfield, stabilising it throughout the next term.
Matty James is known for his physical presence in the midfield and is also known for his crisp passing and good control of the ball. The English midfielder is also good with his head and can make the opposing defence go haywire with his swift footwork. The 26-year-old can play a very important role in the next season for the Baggies as a central midfielder and can be the answer to their worries.
