Hull City have been looking forward to making a number of changes in the side for the next season as they start a new season in the Championship after their relegation form the top flight in the last term. The Tigers are searching for replacements who can give their side the much-needed impetus to come out on top of their competitors in the Championship and thus make it a successful season for them.
The Hull City manager, Leonid Slutsky, is eyeing a number of players to be brought into the side for the next term, among which the name of Bournemouth defender Marc Wilson is right on the top of the list. The Russian tactician has been a big fan of the abilities of the Irish international and is willing to add him to his backline in the summer.
The 29-year old international has played for a number of clubs in the Championship as well as the Premier League including the likes of Stoke City and Portsmouth. However, at Bournemouth, he has been restricted to more of a bits and pieces role and was eventually loaned out to West Bromwich Albion in January last year, where he played only four games that piled on to his frustration.
The Republic of Ireland defender is currently looking for a club where it is possible for him to get good amount of match time, so as to see himself as a regular starter in the team. It is also important for him to get as much time as possible out on the pitch so as to boost his chances to be in the running for a national team call-up for the World Cup to be held in Russia next year.
The Tigers have already lost their mainstay in defence in the form of Harry Maguire, who joined the former Premier League champions Leicester City in the summer. It goes without saying that they are in dire need of a player who can stabilise their defence for the next term and keep the opposition strikers at bay, so to help them make a way back into the Premier League at the end of the next term.
Wilson, who has an experience of appearing in more than 200 matches for various teams throughout his career in English football, can be a perfect addition to the roster for the Tigers in the next term, helping them to make it to the top of the Championship and strengthening the team’s backline with his towering presence.
