Everton have started their competitive football season with a win in the first leg of the qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League over the Slovakian side Ruzemberok FC, with almost all their new signings looking in good shape to feature in the new season of the English Premier League.
The Toffees, however, are not looking to stop their pursuit of new players for the next term and currently have their eyes on the German forward Max Kruse, who is now a part of the Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen. The player might come into the Merseyside club as a backup striker for either Wayne Rooney or Sandro Ramirez for the next term.
The Toffees have already got their hands on two of the best European players in the form of Sandro Ramirez from the Spanish outfit Malaga and the legendary striker Wayne Rooney from Premier League giants Manchester United, who has been the highest scorer for England in their football history so far. However, they are looking for a player who can be used as a cover for any of the two in a situation of contingency in the next term and in the current situation, 29-year-old Max Kruse looks to perfectly fit their bill.
The player has been one of the most highly regarded forwards in the German Bundesliga and has played for a number of teams in the particular league. Apart from his vast experience, he has a good goal scoring record as well and can be an intelligent addition to the roster for the Toffees in the next term.
The versatile player has the ability to play as the secondary attacker as well a winger and can strike the ball from long way outside the D-box to score his goals. He is also a considerable threat from set piece situations and has the ability to chip in with goals using his big frame from free kicks and corners by heading the ball home. He can also take the place of an assist maker so as to provide his teammates with a number of opportunities to score goals and keep his side in the advantage.
The German forward has made 71 appearances for Werder Bremen so far and has got seven goals under his belt to show for his efforts on the pitch. He also made a significant amount of contribution by making 11 assists for his teammates so far in his career with his current club. He has a contract running till 2019, but that might not be a detriment for the Toffees to make a bid.
