Swansea City had a disappointing season in their last campaign in the Premier League, leaving them tottering on the brink of relegation. However, the Swans somehow survived the scare and finally got themselves to finish on the 15th spot in the league table.
This summer transfer window is going to be very crucial for the Welsh club, as they are looking to make amends for their mistakes in the last term and bring in new players who can help them achieve positive results so as to turn the table with their performances.
The Swans have procured just two players so far in the transfer market in the form of Cian Harries from Championship side Coventry City and Roque Mesa Quevedo from Spanish La Liga side Las Palmas and are eyeing a number of new signings to revamp the team for the next term and have been in contention to sign one of the most highly regarded players in the form of Jean Michael Seri from Ligue 1.
The midfielder, who is currently playing for the French club Nice, has been the centre of attraction for the Swans for quite some time now. The Welsh side reportedly made a bid of £15 million for the Ivory Coast international, which was deemed far lesser than the prescribed price by the French outfit for their prized possession and was immediately rejected by Nice.
However, Swansea City are not looking to give up on their chase of the influential midfielder and have reportedly readied a fresh bid for Seri to be brought into the club, which might fulfil the demand of the French club, who have put up a price tag of £35 million on the 26-year old central midfielder.
Seri has made 81 appearances for his current club and has been one of the most influential players for his team, helping Nice to end the last season in the third place in the French Ligue 1, ensuring a place for them in the Champions League competition for the next term. Seri has scored 10 goals so far in his career with Nice and has been a provider of 16 assists for his teammates, helping them to score goals and keep his team in the advantage.
Swansea City have found it difficult to get positive results in the last season, however, they will be looking to get some good results under their belt in the next season in the Premier League and the inclusion of Jean Michael Seri can be a deciding factor for the Welsh club.
