Brighton have been linked with striker Kenneth Zohore from Cardiff City.
The 23-year-old Danish striker is a striker blessed with height coming in at 6 foot 3 1/2 inches. The Sun reported on Sunday that Brighton are lining up Zohore to help secure Premier League safety in the upcoming season.
Zohore’s career started with a spell in youth Academies at BK Skjold between 2003-2006 and continuing at KB for another three years till 2009. In 2010, he joined FC Copenhagen and in a two-year spell at the club scored one goal in 16 appearances. In 2012, he then joined Calcio A side Fiorentina but failed to make a single appearance in three years at the club.
Zohore was instead loaned out to Brondby IF in the first part of the 2013/14 season and made 25 appearances scoring five goals. In the second half of that season, he was loaned to IFK Goteborg where he managed to make five appearances and score two goals. In 2015, the Danish striker then ended his unsuccessful spell with Fiorentina and joined OB and in one season at the club, he made 24 appearances and scored nine goals.
In January 2016, Zohore was on the move again this time to K.V. Kortrijk but made no appearances and went straight out on loan to Cardiff and made 12 appearances, scoring two goals. In June 2016 he then joined Cardiff permanently and penned a three-year-deal. Last season he made 29 appearances and scored 12 goals, seeing him becoming Cardiff’s top scorer for the season and saw him win their young player of the season award.
The striker has also appeared internationally for Denmark at U17, U18, U19 and U21 level and has managed to make at least ten appearances and score five goals for the Danish under age sides bar the U18’s where he only made two appearances.
Brighton are looking for another striker with a lot of pace who will get in behind and cause problems which is what Sam Baldock does but with him being injured at the moment and for some of the last season, The Seagulls had to play Glenn Murray and Tomer Hemed up front which meant two big men up front and a lack of pace. Although Zohore is just shy of 6 foot 4, he possesses a great deal of pace for someone of that stature.
Some of the goals the Danish striker scored last year showed he could run in behind the defence and cause problems which is exactly what Brighton are looking for.
Also, Zohore has experience of playing in the Champions League for Copenhagen at the age of 16 against FC Barcelona so has played against top teams which, The Albion will face in the Premier League.
For me, the Danish striker would be a great signing as he seems to be the complete striker as he tall, pacey and has a knack for scoring and I reckon with the service the Brighton wingers would provide, he could do well at The Albion.
