Tottenham Hotspur have been a tad slow to get off the mark as they are yet to announce a top class signing for this summer. However, they are trying their best to sign some players who fit in perfectly at the club and one player constantly linked with a move to the club is AC Milan star Suso.
According to Calciomercarto, Tottenham Hotspur are growing desperate for a winger and are looking at Suso as the best alternative. But reports from the Sun today claim that AC Milan has rejected a bid of £19.5m for his services from the English club and are prepared to keep him in Italy beyond this summer. However, reports also claim that Milan could be tempted to sell for around £25m, so should Spurs look to improve their bid in the upcoming days?
Born and brought up in Cadiz, Spain, Suso moved to Liverpool as a teenager back in 2012 and spent a couple of years at the Academy, finding it hard to break into the first team. He was sold to AC Milan by Brendan Rodgers, in what was his final summer at the club but ever since the 23-year old has turned into a superstar in Italy.
Capable of playing in a variety of positions, Suso is a versatile winger, who was at his best playing on the right side of the attack for the Italian outfit last season. Though it was not a fruitful season for the club, Suso managed seven goals and nine assists, establishing himself as the first choice winger in the side.
However, with Milan spending insane amounts on top class players already, he might fall down the pecking order, tempting him with a move back to England.
At 23, Suso still has to work on his defensive side of the game but at the other end, he is mesmerising. A sublime finisher who can score goals from long range, the Spanish star is an exceptional dribbler who loves to test the keeper at every chance he gets. A dangerous threat in counter attacks, the former Liverpool man is capable of taking his man on the wing or cutting inside to create space and chances for his side.
He is a perfect fit in most ways for Pochettino, who likes his team to be young and Suso could be a super addition to the squad for the Spurs. With Moussa Sissoko and Kevin N’Koudou not being able to impress enough, while Eric Lamela is still not close to first team action, the Spurs need a first team winger in their squad and Suso, with his previous experience in the Premier League, could be the right man for the side.
