Manchester United are reportedly scouting Brazilian wonder-kid Richarlison. The 20-year-old forward of Fluminense has been in the news recently.
United were supposed to be very aggressive in the transfer market but so far they have only been able to bring in two players, Romelu Lukaku from Everton and Victor Lindelof from Benfica.
On the back of the success of last season, Mourinho would be hoping to bank on it but as of now, United haven’t expressed themselves fully in the transfer window so far. Despite monitoring a number of players, the Red Devils have the fear of missing out on their number of targets.
The 20-year-old joined the Brazilian club last year and his goal scoring traits have triggered interest among a host of clubs including United and AC Milan. The Italian club has been scouting the player for quite a while and might lodge a formal offer in the next few days.
United have their scouts present all over the world and the Brazilian youngster has been the most promising among the scouted players, Basically, a centre forward, the player is equally comfortable on the wings.
Richarlison netted 14 goals last season and a number of clubs failed with their attempt in a bid to sign the player. Fellow Brazilian club Palmeiras had a bid of €11m rejected by the club while Ajax saw their €9m bid knocked down by them.
Milan are very close to securing a deal as they have contacted his representative already. If United are to sign him they have to act fast or they could lose another target in the summer.
Mourinho has gone furious over the lack of work done by United in the transfer window. The Red Devils are still far from completion and it seems United have to start the season with only two entrants.
The Brazilian club would demand in the range of £18m to part ways with the Brazilian prodigy. United have already splashed over £100m in this summer but Mourinho is eyeing 3-4 arrivals as he is rebuilding the squad.
“Everybody knows because I said I would like four players, I asked for four players, and I’m ready to go from four to three because the market is difficult because some clubs think the market is different from others.”
United are already well stocked in the attacking department with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial fighting for a place in the side next season. United might send him on loan after buying him as it would enhance the chance of his development.
