Newcastle United have been in pursuit of quality players who can make their next season a good one in terms of results when they will be playing in the Premier League after one year of Championship football. The Magpies are determined to perform well against the big name clubs in the top tier of English football and are looking ahead to bring in quite a few players who can help them build a strong side for the next term.
Rafa Benitez, the man in charge at Newcastle United, has had his eyes on a number of talented players from all over Europe and is looking forward to bring them in for the next term. One of them is the centre back Zou Feddal from the Spanish La Liga club Alaves, who has been one of the most highly regarded defenders in Spain after his good show in the last season, getting his team in the final of the Copa Del Rey, which they lost to the Catalan giants Barcelona.
The Moroccan defender has been one of the mainstays in the defence for Alaves and has been poised to make a move out of his current club, with offers flowing in from Premier League club including the likes of Southampton and Newcastle United. The player made 27 appearances in the last season for his current club and has made a strong statement by having a towering presence in the heart of their backline.
Benitez has been wary of the fact the fact that he needs to have a good enough defence at his disposal, so as to hold his fort against the world class attacks of the big guns of Premier League like Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and defending champions Chelsea. The Spaniard is quite desperate to get his hands on Feddal and use him as his shield to keep the opposition attackers at bay.
The defender is known to have a good defensive record for the Spanish outfit and has attracted interest from Newcastle’s Premier League rivals Southampton as well. The South Coast club is at present headed by the former coach of Alaves Mauricio Pellegrino, and he intends to bring in his defensive mainstay Feddal to the club to safeguard his backline for the next season as well.
The Moroccan player, in case he makes a switch to the Premier League, is going to be a good addition to the Newcastle roster, teaming up with Florian Lejeune, whom the Magpies brought in as their first signing of the summer from Eibar.
