Chelsea have been going through a rough patch in the summer transfer market recently, and have lost out to fierce rivals Manchester United in the pursuit of their long time target for the next season Romelu Lukaku, with the Belgian striker being swooped for a whopping £75 million transfer deal by the Red Devils from his current club Everton.
The Blues, who have also told their star striker and highest scorer of the last season, Diego Costa, that he is no more in their plans for the next term, and now are in a spot of bother to get immediate reinforcements for attacking options in the summer.
Antonio Conte, the current manager of the West London outfit, under whom they have been able to lift the Premier League trophy for the sixth time in their history, has been aware of the fact that his team will have the additional burden of playing in the Champions League in the next season as well, and is eyeing a top class striker to spearhead the attack for the next term.
The Italian is looking for a reunion with his colleague at his former club Juventus, Fernando Llorente, as he looks to bring him in from fellow Premier League club Swansea City in order to strengthen his attack.
Chelsea, who already have the options of Michy Batshuayi and Loic Remy at their disposal, have been looking to bring in a marquee striker to light up the frontline, as the future of both the aforementioned players looks to be not so bright at the West London outfit, and Llorente is being brought in more as a backup for the Blues, with the Spaniard almost ready to join the defending Premier League champions in the summer.
The 32-year-old ex-Juventus striker has been one of the few bright spots in what has been more of a disappointing season for the Welsh club. He has scored 15 goals throughout the season for the Swans and has played a pivotal role in saving them from getting relegated from the top tier.
The Spaniard has got one more year left on his contract with his current club but is almost set to make a move to the West London club in the summer.
Chelsea is eyeing the option of bringing in either Alvaro Morata or Andrea Belotti to the club in the next season, now that it is sure that the Red Devils have bagged Lukaku as their biggest signing of the summer so far.
