Swansea City have been looking to make amends for the next season by making a good start in the transfer market in the summer to put together a strong enough side in the next term. The Swans are looking desperate to get in their squad quite a few players who have been able to play well for their respective clubs in the recently concluded season in order to turn things around for them.
Erwin Mulder, the Dutch goalkeeper, has been brought into the side with a view to stabilise their line of last defence and depend on someone who can perform well for them between the crossbars for the forthcoming season. This decision might be on the back of a devastating performance by the goalkeepers and defenders in the last term, which saw them concede a total of 70 goals in their Premier League campaign.
It has been nothing less than embarrassing for the Swans manager Paul Clement, who is looking to bring some new players who can give stability to the defence and end the goalkeeping woes for his side in the summer transfer window. The goalkeeper is well aware of the fact that he will have to face competition for the number one position under the crossbars in the next season, with the Swans squad already having two goalkeepers in the form of Lukasz Fabianski and Kristoffer Nordfeldt.
The Dutch shot stopper who has been playing for a number of teams in the Dutch Eredivisie including the likes of Feyenoord, Excelsior and Heerenveen, has a lot of experience under his belt to play at the top level. However, he knows that it is going to be a different ballgame altogether, with the Premier League being one of the biggest and most intriguing leagues in the whole of Europe.
Mulder has been one of the shot-stoppers who has been adored for his ball handling capacities in his native country Netherlands and is quite a livewire under the crossbars. He has the ability to take quick decisions with a cool head, which is an ingredient to becoming one of the best goalkeepers in the world in the future.
The 28-year-old has played a whopping 140 matches for Feyenoord apart from making 77 appearances for his former sides Heerenveen and 45 for Excelsior in the Dutch Eredivisie. He has made 44 saves throughout his career with Feyenoord, while it has been 17 and 10 times respectively that the Dutchman has held the fort for his teams Heerenveen and Excelsior respectively.
