Manchester United have been a quiet side so far, since the end of the previous season, as they are still to make their first signing for the next season. However, Jose Mourinho has some serious plans for his first team next season and one player extensively linked with a move to Old Trafford is PSG star Serge Aurier.
One of the many controversy-riddled superstars in Europe at the moment, Aurier has reportedly rejected a new deal with his current club in France and is open for a move to England. He has constantly been linked with a move to Arsenal but reports from Tuttomercatoweb, Manchester United want the Ivorian this summer.
A right back by trait, the 24-year old is a versatile defender who can play across all the four positions at the back for his side. He has been in decent form for PSG last season, picking up four assists, acting as a secondary full-back in the first team.
A beast of a defender who is strong in the air, Aurier is deceptively creative with his passing and crossing and is a genuinely top class addition to the best squads in Europe. He is however riddled by controversies, which might put off some clubs.
He is pacey, has superb dribbling skills and can put in some sensational crosses but is also strong with his defensive duties, proving hard to beat in one-on-one situations regularly. He also puts in some crunching tackles, not many wingers like and could be the right man for the Red Devils this summer.
However, the likes of Barcelona and Juventus are also after his signature and Jose Mourinho needs to act fast if he wants to get his hands on this PSG star this summer.
The Portuguese manager used the likes of Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian in this role. Though both players may yet stay back at the club, they need a star player who can help them in the long run and Aurier seems to fit the bill perfectly.
With 39 international appearances and more than 150 League 1 appearances, the 24-year-old has a decent experience at the highest level but is yet to play club football outside France. He may take his time to adjust to the conditions of the new league but with Valencia still showing some form, Mourinho might want Aurier to act as an understudy for a year and to slowly get accustomed to the new role.
But do you think he is the right man for United?
