Celtic have been on cloud nine after clinching their 48th Scottish Premiership title in the last season and are looking to build on the success in the next term as well. The Hoops are well aware of the fact that they will need to have players strong enough to give them the advantage in the next season and are looking to bring in a number of them in the summer.
Reportedly, the Scottish champions are on their way to make a new signing in the summer in the form of Barry Douglas. The 27-year-old Polish player plays as a left back and is currently a part of the Turkish Super Lig club Atiker Konyaspor.
Douglas is Scottish by birth and has a good experience of playing in the Scottish Premiership for the club Dundee United FC. He played for the outfit from 2010-2013 and featured in 76 matches for them, playing a very crucial role in the left back position. His darting runs down the left-hand side were quite a threat to the opposition and scored four goals of his own apart from setting up thirteen goals for his teammates as well. H a was firm fan favourite at the club before he decide to move to the Polish club Lech Poznan in search of European glory and played in the Europa League with them as well.
The Scottish player made 75 appearances for the Polish team in their domestic as well as European competitions and has been instrumental for the side in their success, scoring five goals for his side. He also laid off twenty one assists for his teammates to help them score goals and hand an advantage to his side. He went on to join his current club Atiker Konyaspor in 2016 to shift from Poland to the Turkish Super Lig.
For Konyaspor as well, the Scottish full-back has been in his prime form and has made 45 appearances for the Turkish side so far. He has been a consistent performer for the outfit, helping his teammates to score goals on six occasions throughout the season.
It is almost certain that the Scottish international is ready for a move back to his native country with the Scottish Champions in the next season. Though he is in contract with Konyaspor till 2019, it is quite unlikely that he will let go off this opportunity to make a return to Scottish Premiership for a transfer fee of £660000 upfront and another £130000 based on his performance.
