Everton have been looking to make amends for their star striker Romelu Lukaku, who is almost sure to make a return to his former club Chelsea in the next season. The Belgian striker has been in prolific form in the recently concluded term and has scored 26 goals to clinch the title of the second highest scorer in the Premier League after Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who had 29 goals to his name.
Looking at the definite departure of their talismanic striker, the Toffees are already on their mark to bring in a viable replacement for Lukaku in the next summer transfer window. With a number of options at their disposal, the Merseyside club are reportedly looking to bring in the brilliant striker from Celtic, Moussa Dembele, to Goodison Park.
The French marksman has been in prolific form in the last season and has been their highest goal scorer with 24 goals in 38 games in all competitions. His heroics brought good results for his club who have been able to finish the season on a high, by winning the Scottish Premiership for a record 48th time in their history.
The 20-year-old has attracted interests from a number of clubs, including the likes of former Premier League champions Manchester United, who are also in dire need of a good striker since the departure of their talisman up front Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, currently, the Toffees are being looked upon as favourites to get the French youngster in their ranks in the next season.
The Frenchman is not a stranger to the ways of life in English football and its hardship, as he had been a part of the Fulham side for three consecutive seasons up to 2016. Dembele joined Celtic on a free transfer from Fulham in 2016 and showed his true worth by the brilliant display of his prowess and power his team’s way to the top of the ladder in the Scottish Premiership.
It has been a great season indeed for Moussa Dembele and it might be possible that he makes a move out of Celtic Park in the next season and might be on his way back to the Premier League. He is entitled to stay with the Scottish champions for three more years till 2020, as per his contract, however, it is very much possible for the Frenchman to cut it short and head back to England, this time to have a stint at Goodison Park in the next season.
