Everton have been looking to make amends for the possible loss of their star striker Romelu Lukaku, who has been strongly linked with a move to his former club Chelsea in the summer. The Merseyside club have been trying their level best to offer the Belgian superstar a new contract but have failed in their attempt to do so, and are looking to bring in someone capable of replacing him in the next season.
According to the Danish daily BT Sport, one player who has been quite heavily linked with the Merseyside club and has been eyed by the Dutch coach Ronald Koeman is the Denmark international Nicolai Jorgensen, who has been sensational in the recently concluded season for his current club side Feyenoord.
He has been a major factor for the club to win the Dutch Eredivisie for the season. Jorgensen himself has won the Dutch Golden Boot award this term for his wonderful exploits in front of goal.
Everton have already shown their intent to build a strong team in the next season and have signed the Ajax captain Davy Klaassen to reinforce their midfield. They have found an exciting prospect in the form of young Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and are also eyeing the ex-Barcelona forward Sandro Ramirez. They might be well on their way to sign him from his current club Malaga but Jorgensen is also on the radar.
The Ajax man has been one of the players who has shown his class in the last season and has been targeted by a number of clubs from all over Europe.
The Danish striker has been at the top of his form and has scored 25 goals to show for his effort in the 42 games he has played throughout the season for Feyenoord. He has also assisted his teammates a whopping 17 times throughout the season and has helped them secure the Dutch Eredivisie in his very first season with the club since moving from FC Copenhagen in the last summer transfer window.
The player is known for his pace, prowess and his swift footwork to stun his opponents, finding the back of the net. He is a very opportunistic striker and can help his team get the advantage with his sharp shooting abilities and can also assist his teammates to get goals.
As the Danish daily BT Sport reports, the Merseyside club is ready to splash out £18 million for the sensational striker to get him into the team for the next season but do you think he is a necessity for Everton?
