Tottenham Hotspur had a great season, to say the least in their last campaign in the Premier League, and are looking set to build on that success to make the next one an even more successful one. The fact that they will be facing Champions League football in the next season makes the next summer transfer window an important one from the perspective of Tottenham.
Reportedly, the North London club are looking to rival both the Merseyside clubs Liverpool and Everton in pursuit of one of the most highly regarded young midfielders in the form of Keita Balde Diao from Italian club Lazio. The youngster has been in sensational form throughout the last season for his current club and has been one of the players who has been eyed by a number of clubs from all over Europe.
The 22-year-old left winger has been an integral part of the Lazio side since joining in 2011 from Barcelona and has been instrumental for the club in the last few seasons. The Senegalese attacking midfielder is known for his flaring brand of football and can be a good inclusion to the Spurs side, who already have a very strong attacking setup with the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli adorning their ranks.
Keita Balde has made 137 appearances for the Biancocelesti so far in his career and has scored 31 goals to show for his efforts. He has been one of the most influential players in the Lazio line-up, helping his teammates with 27 assists so far. It goes without saying that the Italian club are by no means in any mood to let go of their star performer and is looking to extend his contract for the seasons to come.
However, the Senegalese youngster has reportedly denied to pen down a new deal with the Biancocelesti, which has alerted a number of clubs including the North London club as well. Keita Balde’s current contract runs till 2018 and then there is a good possibility that he might make a move to any of the big name clubs in Europe.
The Senegalese star has been recognised as a star of the future when he scored a rapid hat-trick within a span of only five minutes in Lazio’s game against Palermo and followed it up with a brace against arch-rivals Roma in the Roman derby to make a bold statement about his gallant form.
