Arsenal have made a promising start in the transfer market this summer by notching up one of the most highly regarded left backs in modern day football in the form of Sead Kolasinac and ready to spend big in order to revamp their side for the next season. The Gunners had a fairly disappointing season last term and finished outside the top four for the first time since 1998.
To make amends for that and also in an attempt to appease the rather dejected fans, the North London club are looking determined to make a good start to their campaign in the next season. They have been eyeing a number of players from all over Europe, who have been playing an important role for their respective clubs in the last few seasons.
The Gunners have been concerned about their defence, which has been a reason for their dismal performance in the last season, and looking to bring in one of the promising young defenders in the form of Issa Diop from French Ligue 1 club Toulouse to strengthen their backline.
The French under-20 star has been one of the players who has attracted a lot of interests from a number of clubs from all over Europe owing to his brilliant performance in the heart of the Toulouse defence. He has been instrumental for his club throughout the last season, having made 30 appearances for the club in the French Ligue 1 campaign and scoring two valuable goals for his club as well.
The 20-year-old centre-back is a regular in the French under-20 national team as well. The youngster has been playing for the Toulouse youth team as well before he got his break into the senior side in 2015. He is entitled to stay at the club till 2020 until his contract with the club ends.
However, the French starlet has openly said that he is looking to make a switch to any of the big clubs in Europe to accomplish his dream of playing in the European club competitions, which is not possible if he stays back at his current club. However, his club Toulouse has given an official statement that they are not at all interested in letting go of their prized possession in the seasons to come.
Despite the statement, there have been continuous enquiries about the youngster from some of the big clubs from all over Europe. Arsenal arch rivals Tottenham are also reportedly much interested in signing Diop in the summer.
