Rangers finished the last season in the third place in the Scottish Premiership table, ending what has been a difficult season for them but they will be somewhat pleased with the momentum which they gathered slowly by the end of the season. They will be looking to build on this in the next season as well, making it a point to achieve even better results in the process.
Rangers coach Pedro Caixinha has been eyeing a number of players to be brought in from clubs from all over Europe to strengthen their side for the next season, and one of the players on the top of his wish list is the brilliant midfielder Jamie Walker, who has been playing for fellow Scottish Premiership club Hearts.
The youngster had a great season last term, making it possible for his team to finish in the fifth position in the League. His performance has been able to attract a number of clubs from all over Europe who have monitored the winger.
Reportedly, Rangers are very desperate to make the player available for themselves and have already made a bid of £500,000 to bag him for the next term, only to see it get rejected by his current team Hearts. As per sources, Hearts have been looking to accept a bid which is more than £1 million to let go off their prized possession in the next term.
However, the player himself is very much interested in moving to the Ibrox and playing under Caixinha’s coaching. He has even said that if he is not sold to Rangers in the next season, he will make the move himself out of Tynecastle, the home of Hearts, under the freedom of contract.
One of the biggest reason for the 23-year-old winger to make a move to the Ibrox is the presence of his long-time friend and ex-colleague Jason Holt, who is currently playing for Rangers. The duo is the best of friends and it will be a great combination for the Rangers fans to see them playing together for their team.
It is being speculated that Caixinha will be returning to Hearts with an improved offer to take possession of the young midfielder very soon. An offer of £650000 is on the cards that might see Hearts let go off their prized player to make a move to the Ibrox in the next summer transfer window.
Walker is very much interested in the transfer and is even ready to take matters in his own hand to fulfil it. Now it is to be seen whether Hearts bow to his demands or not.
