West Ham United are very keen to bring Manchester City keeper Joe Hart on loan this summer. Pep Guardiola is preparing for life without the Three Lions number one as he has brought Ederson from Benfica who is expected to be the preferred choice under his guidance. So it will be better for Hart to prepare for a move rather than wasting his time at the Etihad Stadium.
Slaven Bilic had his problems with the goalkeeping situation and he wants an experienced and renowned name at the London Stadium to put some pressure on Adrian and Darren Randolph as both the keepers had a horrid time last season.
Hart too had a very error prone season at Torino as Guardiola had shipped him out on loan to bring Claudio Bravo who proved to be a disaster. Despite the awful season, he managed to be the preferred choice for Gareth Southgate in the recent outings.
But his keeping skills came under severe criticism after the recent World Cup qualifier match against Scotland. He conceded two free kicks in the match as England snatched a very late equaliser to salvage a point. But he should have done better and Southgate might opt for another keeper after his shoddy display.
The one thing that has been stopping the Hammers from making a move is his wage. The 30-year-old is currently on a £175,000 per week salary which West Ham cannot afford at this time. For this similar situation, Torino failed to sign him permanently and Hart should consider a huge pay cut to make himself available.
He earlier cleared his vision that he is looking for a club where he can have some solid game time to stay afloat in the radar of Southgate. He has to be in the England top tier to remain in Southgate’s books and on top of it, he needs to put a more efficient display in the goal.
Hart is expected to join up at the Etihad stadium for preseason as his current contract runs until 2019. But Pep will be looking for suitors as they are ready to offload him. But considering his current form and wage, there is severe doubt who would cough up this much money for him.
But Hart still has that quality in him and if given a chance, he could prove to be a much better choice than Adrian and Randolph at the London Stadium.
