Liverpool have ended a fairly good season in the Premier League where they ended at the fourth position in the League table, which ensures Champions League football for the next term. Jurgen Klopp, the current man in charge at Anfield is pretty happy with his side’s performances and is looking to build on the success to make a good start in the new campaign.
The Reds are looking to bring in some new players who can stabilise their midfield going into the new season and are looking for a top class attacking midfielder who can help them increase their firepower in front of goal. One such player is the Serbian international Dusan Tadic, who is currently playing for Southampton in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old was one of the better players who gave his best effort to sparkle in what was a pretty dismal season for the Saints. Lack of support from the other players has let his efforts not take full effect and reportedly, this has disappointed the Serbian, who is ready for a move out of the St Mary’s in the summer transfer window.
The Reds have a long history of raiding the Saints in search of players, and some of the finest in their ranks used to be former Southampton aces, including the likes of Dejan Lovren, Sadio Mane, Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana. Tadic is going to be the latest addition to the list if the deal goes through.
However, there has been a recent glitch which has given the relationship between the Merseyside and the South Coast clubs a rather unpleasant twist.
The Reds, who were in pursuit of Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk, had to bring it to an abrupt ending owing to a complaint lodged by the Saints that accused them of trying to approach the star centre back without their concern. As a result of this, Liverpool eventually had to give up on their desire to bring in the Southampton ace and also had to apologise for their act.
This time, though, the Reds look determined to bring in the attacking midfielder to bolster their arsenal. With 16 goals so far for his team since joining in 2014, the Serbian can be a handy inclusion for Liverpool in the next season. It is also going to be a good opportunity for Tadic to play in the Champions League, given Southampton agree to sell him. But is he the right man for Klopp?
