West Bromwich Albion had a fairly good season this term in the English Premier League, ending their campaign in the 10th position on the League table. It has been a great season for the Baggies, who were next to invincible on their home turf, while their away form took the momentum away from them thus stopping them from finishing higher up the league table.
West Brom are looking to continue their good form in the next season as well, with certain changes that are needed to strengthen the squad. The Baggies are in dire need of a good left back who can hold their defence together and can make runs into the opposition defence to deliver good balls into the attacking third. Among a number of names considered for the position, one of the most important one that has come up in front of West Brom is that of the French full back Ferland Mendy.
The youngster has been playing for the French Ligue 1 side Le Havre and has been at the top of his form in the recently concluded season. With his impactful skill sets, the left back is considered to be one of the future stars to be playing for his country. A number of big name clubs, including the likes of Monaco, Marseille and Lyon have shown their interest in bagging the player for the next season.
Reportedly, the 21-year-old has been valued at £7 million by his current club Le Havre, who are looking for the right suitor to hand over their prized possession for the future. Apart from the Ligue 1 clubs, clubs from the Premier League are also looking to make the very talented youngster wear their colours for the next season, West Brom being the front-runner among them.
Mendy has been looked up by the current Ligue 1 champions Monaco as a potential replacement for the player who is his namesake in their side and plays in the same position as well, Benjamin Mendy. Besides, teams like Marseille and Lyon are also taking interest in the 21-year-old.
West Bromwich Albion has also been eyeing a good left back for their squad in the recent times, as they have been struggling to contain the opposition from scoring against them, and the youngster from Le Havre might be the perfect fit for their lineup in the next season.
