Everton are looking to strengthen their future squad by bringing in young talents from all over England, and they have reportedly eyed the 16-year-old prodigy Max Broughton from Bolton Wanderers to be brought into Goodison Park for the next season.
Broughton has been one of the brightest young players to have made a name for himself in the under-18 squad of Bolton Wanderers and has been scouted by a number of big clubs from the Premier League, including the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham and Southampton other than the Merseyside club.
The wonder kid, as he is being referred to of late, first came into notice of the scouts of his current club while playing for his former club Rossendale United and was summoned for a trial to Bolton. He impressed the management staff with his skills and was signed up for a scholarship in December 2015.
Broughton has been picked for the England youth squad in the recent times as well and undoubtedly has a bright future in front of him. His inclusion in the side for any of the aforementioned clubs will be helpful for him to grow in the future and become one of the top players to play for his country as well as his club.
Everton have a history of nurturing young talents and make them into good players. The brightest example is the current Manchester United captain and legend Wayne Rooney, who came up the pecking order and burst into the scene with a scorcher against Arsenal and went on to become one of the biggest players in the history of English football. More recently, England midfielder Ross Barkley has been one of the players to play exceptionally well in the recent seasons.
Bolton has clinched their way back into Championship in the recently concluded season and their boss has been happy with the players’ performances. He is expecting to hold on to all his players in the next season as well but might have to make way for the young prodigy of his club, Broughton, in the next season.
Parkinson, the Bolton club coach, has been looking to provide Broughton with a probable first-team place in the next season, which might be shelved after the repeated interests from the Premier League biggies like Manchester United, Tottenham, Southampton and Everton. The Bolton manager has admitted to the fact that it will be hard to resist for any youngster if Premier League clubs come calling for any youngster.
