It has been a great couple of months for Liverpool fans as their side managed to pip Arsenal to the 4th place in the points table, winning a place in the Champions League next season. They are now looking to take some quick strides in the transfer market and are reportedly close to the signing of Egyptian international Mohamed Salah.
According to many reports around England, the AS Roma winger has already accepted the deal Liverpool are ready to offer and that the two clubs are now close to agreeing on a fee for the player. With 19 goals and 15 assists in all competitions in the previous season in Italy, the former Chelsea star has been in impeccable form and is a superb addition to the Reds.
In his time in England at the Stamford Bridge, he was brought in by Jose Mourinho, the current Manchester United manager. He was given 13 games in a blue shirt where he managed just a couple of goals and failed to impress the many fans who had high hopes for him.
He was offloaded to Fiorentina the next season and then to Roma, who managed to get the best out of him. In two years at the Stadio Olimpico, Salah has 29 goals in 65 league appearances and finally seems ready for the challenges of the Premier League.
A pacey winger who loves to outrun his opponents, Salah has learnt to add an end product to his mesmerising dribbling abilities and in his two years in Italy, he has shown that he can adjust to different systems and still stick to his strengths.
In his last outing in the Premier League, Salah was just 21 and yearning for exposure. Chelsea were in no mood to stick with him and give him time. However, he is now a more refined product and Klopp will make sure that he allows him to settle in at Liverpool.
The system at Anfield under the German tactician is something Salah will fit in at easily. Intense and energetic, Klopp has got the Reds to put in a shift in every game and Salah will love how every player around him will try to push each other up. Unlike at Chelsea, Salah will be a more important part of the first team and with almost every player around him, still establishing themselves at the highest stage, he can afford to take his time.
The expectations will be high but Salah surely has a better shot at success in his second stint in England.
