Manchester United might have to make amends for their goalkeeper David De Gea this summer, as the Spaniard is eyeing a move back to his native country in order to join the Spanish champions Real Madrid in the next season. However, there has been no official confirmation of the transfer so far, but it is quite clear that the Spanish La Liga champions are quite determined to make De Gea their main man between the sticks for the next season.
The Red Devils, meanwhile, are in search of a top class goalkeeper whom they can bring in to replace their champion shot stopper in the next season. There have been a lot of names that have been linked with the Premier League club. One player that could take the Spaniard’s place next season is Southampton star, Fraser Forster.
The Englishman has been in fine form throughout the currently concluded season and has been nothing less than a rock for his team in between the crossbars. The goalkeeper has been one of the best in his position in the Premier League and has been pursued by a number of clubs to make him a part of their line-up for the next season.
Manchester United has qualified for the Champions League, having won the Europa League this season, and is looking for players who will be able to strengthen the team for the next season, where they have to face some of the best teams in Europe and come on top.
Fraser Forster has also been eyeing a place in a team which is able to play in the top flight on a regular basis. However, it is very unlikely that Southampton will let go off their prized possession in the summer, as Manchester United is looking desperate to bring the England international to their ranks for the next season.
This might be a very good chance for the English shot stopper to play for the Red Devils, as it might ensure him a place in top flight football on a regular basis and might boost his chances to make it into the England National team for the forthcoming World Cup that will be played in Russia in 2018.
Forster is known for his ball handling abilities and is equipped with a very cool head on his shoulders and a keen eye for the movement of the player who is taking aim on the goal. This also helps him immensely while in one on one situations with the opponents and is someone who can take up the legacy of De Gea. However, he has not been consistent enough and United will have to make sure that they can trust him if they decide to spend on him this summer.
