If the latest reports are to be believed, newly promoted side Brighton & Hove Albion are nearing a deal to sign West Ham United winger Robert Snodgrass. Snodgrass made a move to the ranks of the Hammers midway into the 2016-17 campaign of the Premier League from Hull City but owing to his sporadic run of form for the London-based club, he caused a lot of discontentment amongst the West Ham United supporters and the club are believed to have considered striking him off their books. Nonetheless, he still has admirers who would love to lure him to their squad.
Owing to his adequate experience in the English top tier, Brighton have put him on their radar and quite rightly so, for the Seagulls would be eyeing to inject galvanising names into the club to ensure that the refrain themselves from getting into the relegation fistfights.
Under the tutelage of Chris Hughton, the East Sussex-based club earned an automatic promotion spot to the top flight and such a stellar achievement would mean nothing if they fail to carve a strong footing for themselves in a competition they turned the tides to be in.
Snodgrass is one of the most versatile players in the game, with the Scottish international being a package who could ply his trade anywhere in the midfield or on the wings. He belongs to the brand of players who would not only create handful amount of chances for the teammates but will also clinically bury the chances as well.
He has a wide range of precise passes and despite playing in the advanced areas more often than not, he would massively contribute to the defensive aspects as well. Moreover, he is smart with the dead balls and toils relentlessly throughout the pitch to make something happen for his employers.
Despite the fact that his tenure with West Ham United didn’t really blossom in the manner which was anticipated, he piled up 35 appearances for the Hammers and Tigers in the term which recently concluded, scoring 5 goals and registering 7 assists in the process.
His deadly left foot, exceptional level of creativity and the knack to eject perfect crosses do make him an appealing prospect of a rising club like Brighton & Hove Albion and if he is indeed brought to the American Express Community Stadium, the Championship runners-up would be laying their hands of a complete player who could beef up their attack for the coming season.
