In a season which has not been eventful at all for Manchester City, a number of players have faced a lack of opportunities from their coach and are evidently worried about their future at the club. One such player is the Spanish attacker Nolito, who had a forgettable season in his very first one with the Citizens.
The Spanish star is reportedly looking to make a move back to Spain, owing to the lack of starts he has got in the current term. The availability of the new signing Bernardo Silva at the disposal of the current coach Pep Guardiola has made it even more difficult for the former Celta Vigo player, who was brought in last summer for £13.8 million.
The Spaniard was impressive in the beginning, however, he was frozen off the field and was given only a handful of substitute appearances since his arrival at the Premier League club, with his first start coming in the month of December. This has reportedly infuriated Nolito and he has publicly expressed his desire to move back to Spain in the coming season.
According to sources, the player feels that it has been a forgettable year for him and he wants to play for a club who can guarantee him regular starts. However, his departure is subject to the agreement of the club and they have not indicated if they want to let go of their Spanish ace.
The signing of the Portuguese star Bernardo Silva from Monaco for a whopping £43 million has made the future for Nolito even more doubtful at the Etihad Stadium. The player said that he is aware of the fact that his former club Celta Vigo is interested in bringing him back, and that he is also pondering over a move.
It will also be helpful for the Spaniard to make a mark in the Spanish domestic league, issuing a strong statement for a place in the Spanish National squad for the World Cup in 2018.
Nolito is desperate to leave the Premier League club and make it back to his native country, even if it is on loan. The last four months have been very hard on the Manchester City star, with hardly any playing time offered by Pep Guardiola. Nolito is evidently frustrated with the turn of events and wants to leave the Etihad as soon as possible. Should Manchester City sell him this summer?
