On the back of a successful season, Antonio Conte’s aim would be to double the delight when his side face Arsenal in the FA Cup Final on 27th May. Conte will have the chance to secure a double in his maiden season in England and it would be a perfect ending to his fairy tale season.
The Blues have been adjudged the Champions of England this season and Conte would definitely love to take forward the legacy. The Italian has strategically outplayed all other teams as his switch to a much more flexible 3-4-3 formation seemed to have acted as the spoilsport for other teams. However, irrespective of the other results a loss could leave a black mark on their almost flawless season.
Predicted 3-4-2-1 Chelsea Lineup Against Arsenal
Defence
Courtois received the much coveted Golden Glove award for maintaining clean sheets in a staggering 16 Premier League games. He now needs to keep his focus for another game as Chelsea will be eyeing their second silverware of this season.
Conte is slated to stick with his usual three-man defence. The Italian found success with this setup and should stick to this. The trio of Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta and David Luiz will have to be a little more conscious in this high octane game as the Gunners attackers will be pushing desperately to create opportunities. They also shared 13 goals between them and could pose a real threat in corners and free kicks. Especially Luiz loves to use his goal scoring antics as we often see him roaming forward in set piece situations.
Midfield
The duo of Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante should start in the middle of the park. The midfield combination has gone through various patches this season and should come out clean in this match. Matic will work as a destroyer as he will have the responsibility to cut out the main supply of the Gunners. Kante will be the creative force on the pitch and will try to bring the attackers more into the game by feeding them balls.
Marcos Alonso had a bit hazy start but has acclimatised himself quite beautifully according to the need of the game and he should be the preferred choice in the left wingback position.
Victor Moses has been a revelation in this season and will be on the right side of the midfield.
Attack
Eden Hazard and Pedro will be the focal point of the attack. They will be deployed just behind the main striker and will add some more enthusiasm to the game.
Diego Costa will start up front.
