Kylian Mbappe has been one of the best players this season in European football. His prolific form in front of the goal has made his club AS Monaco the champions this season. He has also rocketed his way to glory, having carried Monaco to the semi-final of the Champions League this season, where they were eventually beaten by the Italian Serie A champions Juventus.
The French youngster’s composure on the pitch has attracted a number of big-name clubs from all over Europe including the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Liverpool. However, his present club AS Monaco have strongly denied the possibility of letting go of their prized possession during the next summer transfer window and has reportedly turned down an offer of a world record £103 million transfer fee from the Spanish La Liga champions Real Madrid.
Recently, though, their President Dmitry Rybolovlev has said that the club will not stand in the way of the 19-year-old starlet in case he wants to make a move to any of the biggies of European football in the next season. Reportedly, Real Madrid are continuing to have prolonged interest in bagging the youngster for the next season and are also looking to make a renewed bid during the summer transfer window.
Mbappe has scored 15 goals this season in the French Ligue 1 campaign for Monaco and has helped them to become the champions after a long 17 years. He has also been instrumental for them in the Champions League as well, powering their way to the semi-final, having beaten teams like Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund in the process.
Real Madrid has made it to the final of the Champions League this season and has already earned their place as the Spanish La Liga title holders this season as well. With a view to maintain their good run in top flight football, the Galacticos coach Zinedine Zidane has been looking to strengthen his squad with players like Mbappe who are young and exuberant and can be a real asset in the future for Los Blancos.
However, Premier League club Manchester United, given their weak run in domestic competitions this season, are also looking desperate to strengthen their squad for the next season by bringing in someone like Mbappe next summer. The Red Devils have already reached this year’s final in the Europa League and will make every possible attempt to win it, as that is the only way they can qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
